Privacy and usage measurement
Safer measures visits and interactions using its own servers. A random browser cookie lets us count returning browsers and visits without requiring your name or email. The cookie lasts up to 180 days; clearing it gives your browser a new identity.
We record page types, visible report cards, opened reports, clicked controls, completed contributions, device and browser categories, referring website domains, and campaign labels. Usage events do not contain report text, search terms, form values, precise location, or raw IP addresses. Public report IDs let us distinguish activity on simulated and non-simulated content.
Only staff can access the insights dashboard. We do not send this activity to Google Analytics, PostHog, or an advertising network. These usage records are separate from the operational request audit log and from reports you choose to submit.
Reports are published anonymously. Anonymous publication does not mean that the service keeps no operational or usage records. Analytics counts browsers, not verified people across devices.
